Oklahoma Young Writers is a registered non-profit dedicated to exciting young people about language and creative writing. Currently we host a free weekly writing workshop every Sunday at the Downtown Public Library. Facilitators Rob Sturma and Lauren Zuniga also travel throughout the state performing and teaching workshops with young people ages 13-21.

We have been doing this on a completely volunteer basis for over a year and now we are ready to expand our reach and apply for grant support.  In order for us to become fully incorporated, as the big kids say, we need to file a form called 501 3-C.  Downside:  That form has a pretty big fee attached to it.  So we're asking for your help.

If we can get this jumpstart, we'll be able to reach more students through performances, workshops and residencies. Let's get young people fired up about their own voices!  It's really a win-win situation.  

Plus:  we have custom made pinback buttons.  It's the cool kid accessory that you can't do without this year. As well as OK Young Writer t-shirts and you can even get Write Bloody authors, Lauren Zuniga and Rob Sturma to write a poem for you and put it on the interwebs!
