Vivian Lee
Musician
- Jazz, vocal jazz
Location Antelope , CA |
I am Sacramento area jazz vocalist Vivian Lee.
It has been 8 years since my last CD and so I am working on a new project – From Miss Lee To You, doing the music of vocalists that I have always admired and looked up to for my inspiration as a jazz vocalist. That would be Billie Holiday, Blossom Dearie, Carmen McRae, Nancy Wilson, Dinah Washington and others. Along with this there will also be some jazz instrumental standards with original lyrics written by me. This project pays homage to those who have influenced my style as a vocalist and musician. Some of the songs on this project are - At Long Last Love, I Don't Know Enough About You, Star Eyes, Summer Samba, Fotografia, and Afternoon in Paris (lyrics written by Vivian Lee), to name a few.
Once this project is done, 10% from each CD sold or donation given will be sent to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (http:www.bcrfcure.org) Most of you don't know this, but my mother, Anne Patricia Gipson, died from breast cancer in 1988 at the age of 57. This portion of the CD campaign will be dedicated in her memory.
A new benefit that I have added - each donation, at any level, will receive one free mp3 of one of the songs from the CD. When you donate please tell me your musical preference - swing, ballad, latin.
